Nobody’s Darling is a Black-owned, queer women-owned cocktail bar in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, known for its inventive cocktails, inclusive atmosphere, and community-centered nightlife. Founded in 2021 by Angela Barnes and Renauda Riddle, the bar was created as a welcoming space that centers women, particularly queer women, while embracing guests of all identities and backgrounds.

The bar takes its name from Alice Walker’s poem “Be Nobody’s Darling,” reflecting its commitment to individuality, authenticity, and creating a place where people can feel comfortable being themselves. Its stylish interior, warm lighting, and inviting atmosphere make it a destination for date nights, gatherings with friends, and evenings out in Chicago.

Nobody’s Darling specializes in elevated classic cocktails and creative signature drinks. Its menu features selections such as the Black Wall Street, a rye whiskey cocktail with chocolate liqueur and bitters; the Kiki Spritz, combining Aperol, strawberry, lemon, and sparkling rosé; and the Baobab Ballroom, featuring gin, cucumber, lime, and ginger beer. The bar also offers premium spirits, wine, beer, and low-alcohol and nonalcoholic cocktails.

In 2022, Nobody’s Darling earned national recognition as a James Beard Award finalist for Outstanding Bar Program, highlighting its contribution to Chicago’s cocktail scene.

Beyond drinks, the bar hosts DJ nights, mixers, themed gatherings, and community events. Its programming brings together Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community, artists, professionals, and neighbors for opportunities to socialize and connect.

Nobody’s Darling also accommodates private gatherings and offers reservable seating for small groups.

Whether enjoying a handcrafted cocktail, attending a community mixer, or spending an evening with friends, Nobody’s Darling offers a distinctive Andersonville nightlife experience built around hospitality, creativity, and belonging.
