South Side Weekly and Build Coffee & Books present Third Thursdays, a monthly all-ages open mic and writing workshop. Come at 6:30pm to participate in the workshop with and stay for the open mic in the second hour. Music, poetry, comedy, ventriloquism are all welcome.
There is a suggested donation attached to the ticket, but this event is free– the donation is not required! Books and drinks will also be for sale.
Community Norms and Event Info:
Third Thursdays is intended as a generative, welcoming, and supportive space. Care and respect are requirements for entering and staying in the space.
Do: try new things, give constructive feedback in workshop, be open to learning, be kind, uplift each other, support the courage it takes to share work with others, cheer loudly.
Do not: be a jerk. Anyone engaging in homophobic, racist, misogynistic, transphobic, or otherwise unkind or abusive behavior or language may be asked to leave.
This is an all-ages open mic, which means this is not a space for drugs, alcohol, or inappropriate or boundary-crossing behavior. Don’t be a creepy weirdo, and speak up if you see someone else being a creepy weirdo.
