About this Business
Ina Mae Tavern & Packaged Goods is a New Orleans-inspired Southern restaurant and bar in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, serving Cajun and Creole cuisine, Southern comfort food, and specialty cocktails. Opened in 2018 by executive chef Brian Jupiter and restaurateur Mark Domitrovich, the restaurant brings the flavors, music, and neighborhood hospitality of New Orleans to Chicago.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Jupiter drew inspiration from his family’s cooking traditions and the neighborhood restaurants, corner stores, and gathering places of his hometown. The restaurant is named in honor of his great-grandmother, Ina Mae, whose entrepreneurial spirit helped inspire the concept.
The menu features Southern favorites such as fried chicken, po’boy sandwiches, gumbo, shrimp and grits, and seafood dishes. Guests can enjoy fried shrimp or blackened catfish po’boys, Chef Jupiter’s Gumbo Ya-Ya, hushpuppies, and freshly prepared beignets. The restaurant also offers Southern-inspired pizzas, burgers, and other comfort food.
Weekend brunch includes dishes such as chicken and pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and shrimp and grits. The bar serves New Orleans-style cocktails, frozen daiquiris, and other specialty drinks.
Beyond dining, Ina Mae Tavern hosts live music, themed events, happy hours, and neighborhood gatherings. Its lively atmosphere and outdoor patio make it a destination for casual meals, celebrations, and nights out in Wicker Park.
The restaurant also provides catering and private event services for corporate gatherings, birthdays, weddings, and other occasions, with menus featuring Southern favorites and shareable dishes.
Recognized by the Michelin Guide with multiple Bib Gourmand distinctions, Ina Mae Tavern & Packaged Goods offers Chicago diners a taste of New Orleans through its food, drinks, music, and hospitality.
