B&B Ice Cream and Candy is a Black-owned, family-run Chicago ice cream and candy shop. Ellen Brazley and Bernard Spencer opened the business in 2016 with their daughter, Lauren. The family traces its roots in the neighborhood food business back to the 1980s.

B&B serves ice cream, milkshakes, Italian ice, candy, and gourmet chocolates. Ice cream flavors include banana pudding, vanilla bean, cookies and cream, black walnut, bubble gum, and more.

Candy lovers can choose from loose chocolates and gummies sold by weight. The selection includes gummy worms, peach rings, sour candies, chocolate-covered pretzels, giant turtles, and familiar candy brands.

B&B also serves hot food and Chicago-style snacks. Customers can order nachos, Italian beef, hot dogs, Polish sausage, tacos, sandwiches, and fries.

The family built B&B around creating an affordable and welcoming neighborhood destination. Its mission focuses on providing great treats while celebrating Chicago’s South Side communities.

Today, customers can visit B&B Ice Cream and Candy in Auburn Gresham or Brainerd for ice cream, candy, savory snacks, and classic Chicago treats.
