Coffee, Hip-Hop & Mental Health (CHHAMH) is a Black-owned nonprofit organization and coffee shop in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The organization uses coffee and hip-hop culture to help normalize conversations about mental health and expand access to therapy.

CHHAMH operates a community-focused coffee shop at 1051 W. Belmont Avenue. Visitors can stop in for coffee, work, meet with friends, or spend time in a welcoming space built around connection and mental wellness. The organization describes its approach simply: “hospitality first, coffee second.”

Coffee sales and donations help support Coffee, Hip-Hop & Mental Health’s broader mission. The nonprofit raises funds to provide free, quality talk therapy to people in Chicago who may otherwise struggle to access mental health services. It also works to reduce stigma and make conversations about therapy and emotional wellness more approachable.

CHHAMH extends that work through community events and programming. Events bring together mental health, music, food, culture, and conversation. The organization creates experiences where people can connect while discussing topics such as relationships, emotional wellness, and mental health.
