# Managing your listing location

Ensuring that your location is setup correctly affects both how your listing is displayed and how its found. Follow the instructions below to set yourself up for success.

### Add General Geographic Location

Use the location dropdown to add your geographical location. Add your country, state, and city to ensure that your listing has the most visibility as we display listing by these attributes in various settings (state guides, city guides, etc.) and users may search by any of these factors.

### Add Physical Business Address

Add your business address. The field will autocomplete and update the map when you select your address.

In some cases, the address may autocomplete incorrectly. If this is the case, we recommend you ignore the autocomplete and enter your address as you would like it to be displayed.

If you do this, its **crucial** that you enter map coordinates for your address. If you do not, your location will be displayed correctly, but the map (and directions) will be wrong.

### Add Coordinates (as needed)

Find your map coordinates using a free site like [gps-coordinates.net](https://www.gps-coordinates.net/)

Check the box that says "Or Enter Coordinates (latitude and longitude) Manually". Replace the values in those boxes with your own coordinates in their respective fields.

Click or tap "Generate on Map" to update the map to your correct location.

### Hide the map (recommended for online businesses)

If you're an online business or have some other reason for not wanting to display your address, its easy to just hide the map and not enter any location details. It's important to hide the map as it defaults to Buckingham Fountain in Chicago if no address is listed.
